Boxes are hand folded in unit origami methods with subtle or no gluing necessary. They range in size from 1.5" to 5.25" across, 1" to 3.75" high. They come not only in just squares or rectangles, but also as triangles, pentagons, hexagons, octagons, and even diamond shaped. Boxes can be the basic plain-faced, or can have origami designs both inside and out. Almost all the boxes come in two pieces, lid on top and base on bottom.

They are made from various papers and fabrics precut in square pieces ready for folding. Papers range from origami papers, rice papers, wrapping papers, foil papers, etc. Fabrics are 100% cotton and are pre-treated with a fabric stiffener which enables the fabric to retain folds and creases and hold its shape. Fabric and paper selection is hand-picked and not acquired in mass quantities. Most of the boxes are made a handful of times with the same fabric or paper, and then "retired" to another medium.

Each box is individually hand folded. This is a one-person operation. The boxes are not mass produced.

Removable dividers may be inserted into large square boxes at an additional cost. The dividers can divide the interior into two or four sections.

Custom orders are made with choices of sizes, designs, quantity, and available materials. If you have a specific paper or fabric in mind, you may even supply the materials (subject to approval) and receive a 10% discount to your order. Orders could take from a couple of days to a couple of weeks to complete. Fabric materials would require a few days to pre-treat with a fabric stiffener.

Almost all the boxes were designed by Tomoko Fuse, a well reknown designer of origami boxes and many other origami models, and author to numerous origami books. Many of these boxes are found in the following books, all authored by Tomoko Fuse:
